You are not just designed to be blessed. You are designed to be something more- to be a blessing! Your life is like a land being blessed with rain to produce a crop useful to those for whom it is farmed- not for itself or for the One by whom it is farmed. You need to stop living for yourself. You were designed to be a blessing for your generation by producing a crop useful for US!
I want to share three types of production that may come through you. I hope you’ll be challenged to receive grace from God to be useful for God in this generation!
The first category of production is the land that produces crop useful to those for whom it is farmed. This land somehow against all odds, maximizes the rain, sunlight and fertilizer it got just like every other land and produces something useful for those expecting a yield from it. Take note that the crop produced is useful “to those for whom it is farmed.”
It appears to me that what the crop produced actually got to the hand of those for whom it was produced. The delivery of your potentials is as important as the discovery!
Well… Not useful
There is specificity in the crop you are being blessed to produce and it is determined by the needs of those for whom you are being farmed. Life’s greatest failure is to be successful in the wrong assignment! If you are producing a crop, no matter how fine, and it is not useful for those for whom you are farmed, you are in the danger of being cursed any way… For the Creator himself subjected the Creation to an expectation for your manifestation. You must be connected to Him to avoid the danger of producing the wrong crop.
Not useful at all…
This last category is a dangerous one. The writer of the book of Hebrews tells us about a land that experiences the gift of rain but yet produces thorns and thistles worthless for those for whom it was farmed. You can imagine the disappointment on the face of these people who had expected so much from the land but who would have to look elsewhere for their supplies. The Creator has blessed you with tremendous potentials for the pursuit of your destiny. You have been designed with spectacular gifts to make remarkable impact in our generation. You have been shaped with unique experiences, talents, personality and passions. Would you be useful for those for whom you have been farmed or would you be a disappointment?
Your world has an expectation for you whether or not they know it. I hope you know it. Are you the solution we’ve been waiting for or should we look for someone else? Should we look somewhere else for the solution to the problem of abortion?
Should we look somewhere else for the solution to a vaccine that will cure Ebola? Should we look somewhere else for a lawyer with an outstanding knowledge of the law and a passion to make a remarkable addition to the legal body of knowledge?
Should we look somewhere else for literary pieces that will set our hearts on fire towards world peace, good governance and sustainable development?
Should we look somewhere else for a politician with integrity and passion for community development and youth empowerment?
Should we look somewhere else for an astute researcher in the agricultural sector of Nigeria’s diversified economy?
Should we look somewhere else for an expert in raising leaders with integrity and clarity of vision?
Like God asked Moses, I am asking you, “What is that in your hand?”
We all need to take our lives more seriously. What are we doing with all that we have received? The good education. The rich background. The writing prowess. The singing talent.
It is time for us to do more than just survive; it is time for us to thrive and be channels of blessing!
“Parched ground that soaks up the rain and then produces an abundance of carrots and corn for its gardener gets God’s “Well done!” But if it produces weeds and thistles, it’s more likely to get cussed out. Fields like that are burned, not harvested.” (Heb. 6:7-8 MSG.)
