Making a Masterpiece

Every time my heart is drawn to the story of Job, I am most humbled at the way God works in all things for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His Purpose. I have learnt from senior collegues and their writings that even in the minutest instances of our lives, lessons are intended by the God of Purpose in His leading us to the place of divine fulfillment. You can see Ife Nihinlola’s Ramblings of a Coffa for such lessons.
Recently, I came accross a poem by an unknown author that portrays God as the Weaver who is absolutely in charge of the weaving and who works so hard to make a perfect piece out of the material. For us on the journey of Purpose, we should find a resemblance in this author as projects to which God is committed to making a masterpiece!

My life is but a weaving, between the Lord and Me.
I cannot choose the colors; He worketh steadily,

Often times He weaveth Sorrow, and I in foolish pride
Forget He sees the Upper, and I the under side.

The dark threads are as needful in the Weaver’s skillful hand
As thread of gold and silver, ‘neath the pattern He has planned.

Not ’til the loom is silent and the shuttles cease to fly
Will God unveil the canvas and explain the reason why!…

You know, God never gave Job any explanations actually!
So, when from where You’re standing You can’t imagine where Your life is going, with all the things that are happening, remember that to Him Your futre is a memory and that from God’s standpoint all that is viewed is the grand design He imagined when He breathed You into life and all the chaos will surely come together in His hands (only) to form a masterpiece!
